Child and Family & Care Services

A.H.W.A hosts bi-weekly support groups for fathers and mothers in the community at the Conestoga Community Center @53rd and Media. Support groups are held every other weekend, with saturdays reserved for mothers and sundays for the fathers in our community. The support groups are led by wellness educators and serves the double purpose of providing a safe space for members of our communities to communicate their needs, while also supporting our families with basic needs like diapers. It is an overwhelming task to raise a child in 2025, especially in Philadelphia. A.H.W.A. aims to create networks or systems of support for our families. When a parent is happy and healthy, the children are happy and healthy. Unwell parents, or unhappy parents lead to unwell and unhappy children. If you are a parent in the community seeking guidance or support, join us at our next meeting.
